George Wilcox
Gordon was born in St. John New Brunswick Canada which is approximately 150 miles from where Hank Snow
and Ann Murray were born. Gordon is the middle child of two sisters and two brothers. He currently
lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with his wife and three children. Gordon's love for country music started
when he was a young boy. He would listen to his sister playing her country music records in the next room
after he had gone to bed and would dream of being a singer one day.
Gordon's favorite singers are Merle Haggard, Gene Watson and Hank Williams Sr. Some of Gordon's accomplishments
include: Being honored with the title of Ambassador To The Traditional Country Music Association in Iowa where
he performs yearly at the Bob Everhart traditional music festival in Avoca, Iowa. He is also honored with the
title of "Canadian Ambassador" at the Chambersberg, Pennsylvania Music Theatre. The independent Music
Association in Nashville, Tennessee nominated Gordon "Most Promising Songwriter". He won "Most Promising
Songwriter" for these nominations. He travels to Fan Fair yearly in Nashville where he has appeared at
Booth 101 since 1991. He made a guest appearance at Ernest Tubb's Record Shop Midnight Jamboree and taped
a segment of the Tennessee Hayride Show which is sponsored by the Nashville Network and has also appeared on
Herb Sudin's Country Video in Boundbrook, New Jersey.
He has been a guest on several radio stations and has appeared on the popular TV program, "Nashville Nights
In Texas" hosted by Jean Paul Sinistre. Gordon has also won the King Eagle Award from Airplay International
in Nashville for his outstanding contribution to the music industry. He was nominated male songwriter of
1996 by the Entertainer Indie Association in Nashville, Tennessee.
