I'M SO SAD TO FIND OUT THAT CORDELL HAD PASSED AWAY.
I GO TO MEMPHIS EVERY AUGUST FOR ELVIS WEEK AND HAD MET CORDELL VIA REGULAR MAIL IN 1995.
I ALWAYS WENT TO SEE HER AT HER HOME WHILE IN MEMPHIS.
HER AND I HAD THAT FAN FAVE FRIENDSHIP.
SHE WAS A SWEET DEAR WOMAN AND I DIDN'T FIND OUT ABOUT HER DEATH TILL FOUR DAYS
AGO WHILE SURFING THE NET.
SHE WAS SO PLEASANT AND ALWAYS WELCOMED ME AND MY 5 FRIENDS AT HER HOME EVERY TIME.
ONE DAY WHILE SETTING ON HER COUCH SHE TOLD US SHE HAD A CD FOR SALE AND SHE SAID,
"I KNOW SOMEONE WHO WILL BUY MY CD!"
AND SHE BENT HER HEAD AND LOOKED OVER AT ME WITH THAT SWEET SWEET LOOK ON HER FACE.
BOY COULD SHE EVER DO A JOB PLAYING THAT GUITAR AND I LOVED THE WAY SHE WOULD COME OUT OF
THE CHAIR AND SIT BACK DOWN WHILE JAMMING!
WHEN I GO TO MEMPHIS THIS YEAR I WILL PUT FLOWERS BY HER MAILBOX OR ON THE FRONT PORCH.
I'M SURE IF SOMEONE IS THERE AND I ASK IT WILL BE OK.
I LOVED HER LIKE SHE WAS MY MOM. SHE COULDN'T GET OVER HOW FUNNY I WAS.
THANKS FOR READING THIS!
P.S.: SHE LOVED IT THAT I HAD MET ELVIS IN GERMANY AND I GAVE HER A PICTURE OF ME AND ELVIS!
MY DAD WAS STATIONED IN FRIEDBURG WITH HIM IN 59.
WE LIVED IN BAD NAUHEIM ABOUT 1 AND 1/2 MILE FROM HIS HOME.
